Lackeys and lickspittles, lords and masters, get thee hence…In other words, f*ck off!

I grew up in the west country of England. I now live on the west coast of America, I have lived here for almost thirty years. I tried to shake off the stifling class system I was brought up in and I tried to embrace the idea of the United States. A hopeless romantic notion of mine and many others. I was willing to work hard and accept my rewards, it was an adventure at first. I was foolish enough to believe that it was a brave new world. I scratched the surface and there it was, the same elitism, the same divisive system, only this time it was wrapped up a bit differently. It was a clever deceit, sold as idealistic and democratic. After all, it did say “we the people” and they did have a “civil rights” movement. I fell for it a bit, but I really did not believe it. A lot of people I know here believe it though. Some of them speak of change, and how they have a bill of rights, these people did believe that they were the “we” and believed they were represented by well meaning leaders. Oh yes, they believed so hard, they would rather believe the lie than look for the truth, they were very patriotic. Some are so fervently patriotic, they said I should go home, some even suggested I should go live in Russia or China. I mostly laugh at these people but sometimes they worry me. I must admit though, I have also met so many brilliant and radical people here, people who are willing and able to perpetuate real change in society. Free thinkers, unencumbered by their childhood, unlike me. These are my real friends, these artists and rebels are ready for change. Some lack direction due to many years of indoctrination, sure we all do, but they are excited to push for a better world.

One of the things that bothers me though is this idea that we can change things by voting. The existence of people defending “democracy” when they have no grasp of “the control system” is in itself a tool of the “ruling elite.” They use the word “democracy” in order to maintain their power. If you want to see how democracy works (given the level of awareness in society) then just look around you. The great divide that exists in society, is not just economic; it is based on the willing servants to the system. Lords and masters who are willing to exploit the ridiculous notion that they are the ones who are born to rule. Also to blame, though less so, are the lackeys and the lickspittles, who willingly bow down to their “betters.” Society can change, people can change, we can change but usually we don’t, until we need too. I suggest that time has well and truly come.

Are we “the system”? That is the real question for me. I believe that for the most part we are. Sure, we don’t agree with it and we rail against it but we make up society, all of us. The rules, the regulations, the power and the weakness are all ours. So, given that, we can be the change we need to see in the system, right? Hold your horses, wait a minute, can we really change it? I honestly believe we can. It might take a week or two, but hey, what’s time, we got our lifetime. Well, there’s the rub, most people think about themselves, I know I do sometimes. Then they say something like this….a lifetime of struggle for change and I ain’t gonna see any of it, sod that. Most people are conditioned to be selfish, I know I was; now I think about the long term, generations from now, how will that be? Will humanity survive the bitter divisions; will humanity learn to unlearn its savage history? I have faith in humankind, I see people around me caring for each other, caring for the future of our species, and caring for the planet we live on. We can change. We have too. Where are the radicals? Come out now, we got work to do.

We see the problem, we need solutions.

Due to the dramatic rise in dystopian documentaries and books that depict a no hope scenario of mankind’s future, I have decided it is time for a reassessment of my life and purpose. I feel compelled to offer this short manifesto to the many people who are suffering from the collective idea that we are disempowered or unable to make a positive impact on society.

This beautiful planet on which we live is diverse and abundant, everything is provided for us, all of us. In our short history as the dominant species we have accelerated ourselves into a very dangerous position, we may even destroy this very planet that sustains us. Gross mismanagement of our resources is entirely to blame and a selfish, greedy few are continuing to propel us in that direction.

We must resist this greed, we must embrace our diversity, and we must find a way to work together and save our race from an early demise.

Our current options seem limited to a rapid response, mostly due to our late recognition of our collective problem. A problem that seems so great, as to make us feel small and insignificant. I resist that notion based on my own individual responsibility and the ability we all have to solve problems by increasing peace through love. I love humans; I am constantly reminded of our creativity and resilience, especially our capacity for love and our need for peace. I also see a dogged determination in many to just follow the leader and repeat the ranting’s of raving lunatic’s, I am aware of the absurdity entrenched in our current system of control. I am not blinded by it though, I am fully aware of the situation we are in, that is the reason for my writing this.

I have always been compelled to write, document and narrate what I see and feel, I do not fully grasp why, I am not even sure if it will make any difference to the outcome of our struggle for survival in an increasingly, oppressively ran, global society; I do know this though, I have to do it.

Whether or not we survive this sickness that runs through our society, I think that we owe it to those that may; we must resist the destroyers of beauty and be creative with our world. The solution I offer seems very simple and will be torn apart summarily by those who run this global system of control and also by the people who foolishly follow its dictates. I do not care for my individual survival; my concern is for the future of man, for I honestly believe we have tremendous potential as individuals and as a species.

I have grown to understand in very simple terms the important and not too complicated ways we can prosper as a race.

Firstly, we must recognize that we have a simple choice between love and fear; love conquers all and fear destroys all; not much of a choice really if we are to survive as a species.

Secondly, we must overcome our urge to blame anyone else, or our human nature. We must take full responsibility for our individual actions.

Third and most importantly, we must learn to love ourselves, for we are what will survive and thrive.

The solution I propose…

Free food. Free shelter. Free healthcare. Free education. Free for everyone.

There it is plain and simple.

try this…

I have no real wisdom here, just things I have learnt that have helped me, if they can help someone else then I am happy.

The saying, “I’m my own worst enemy” is as applicable to me as it is to most people. What makes that “ring true” for most of us is the repetition of mistakes in the hope that it might work this time. If you want to continue that way, good luck.

One of the things that works for me is when faced with a decision or an issue that I have to deal with I remember this simple chart.

I face the same problems as most people. This graph helps me.

Why are we being driven crazy?

Image
“Three generations of bus drivers!”

“It seems to me that we got on this bus a long time ago, we missed our stop when we were lulled into falling asleep. Convincing the driver to turn around and take us back is where we are, collectively. This is not really an option, the driver was not our friend, he was always intent on getting us to this station, he loves his job and is paid well to do it.”

Want to know what is driving us crazy? Greed.

Want to know how it is spread? Media.

Want to know some of the originators of the technique’s used by the media and the “control obsessed world leaders”? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Bernays and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustave_Le_Bon

Am I getting to deep in the rabbit hole for you? Oh well, sorry. I always wanted to know who the bully was even if it was me. Knowing is half the battle, now I can do something about it. Time to get off this bus and get busy…….                                                                                                      http://youtu.be/yBR0VLcwdyk

“GO EAST YOUNG MAN”

Image

My life is a journey and I feel no compulsion to stop travelling. I have visited many different countries, cities, towns, villages, but mostly, due to where I was born and raised I have always felt a magnetic pull to the “west country” of England. I am at home almost anywhere on Earth and feel a sense of belonging on this beautiful planet; most of the time.

I choose to spend my time “Eastside of the decadence”. Why, you may ask? Well, amongst the wealth of reasons I can list, I feel happier around people who care for each other, people who, when they look at you and start to get to know you don’t automatically think “what’s in this for me”. I prefer the Eastside because I deplore greed, if there is one thing I can’t abide about our current malaise in global society, greed takes the ticket.

I spent the Summer of 2012 in my birth country of England living with one of my friends in London, East 17. Having never lived in London, I felt somewhat like a tourist. Of course, geographically speaking anywhere East of “the city” is called the “Eastend”. To me “the East” has many other connotation’s, some symbolic and philosophical, some social and societal, some purely imagined by me. As a point of fact, I believe most things I experience are imagined by me, but that’s another story.

As I write this, I am living on the Eastside of Los Angeles, though strictly speaking, as far as I can tell, Lost Angeles unlike London does not have “the city” to be east of. Geographically, East of L.A. is desert and West is ocean. The one common factor between London’s East end and L.A.’s East side for me is this, both are for the most part, financially poorer, humanly kinder, socially inclusive and overall friendlier. The “Eastenders” and “Eastsiders” seem much more free to create, to express themselves openly and embrace the idea of community. I am not going to use this short piece of writing as a social justice exercise or search for reasons why (that would be a much longer and very opinionated piece), in this instance, I am just going to make an observation. The Eastside feels best for me and the Eastend felt the same. It makes me feel more like a human being, instead of a human doing.

I make music and art, I choose a simple and rewarding lifestyle of creativity.

Love and peace are my weapons.
